Relay for life contestants may end up as big losers

BOARDMAN — “The Pink Ribbon Weight Loss Biggest Loser for a Cure and Biggest Gainer Contest” will be sponsored by Rocky’s Personalized Fitness Training Center, 1285 Boardman-Canfield Road.

The contest will begin with the official weigh-in of participants between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Feb. 15 at Rocky’s. Weight gain or loss will be measured by the percent of body weight, percent of body fat and pounds of body fat.

Those taking part in the contest can accomplish their goals at home or through any fitness center.

A registration fee of $10 will be collected from each contestant, and proceeds will benefit the Boardman Relay for Life Breast Cancer Fund.

A breast cancer survivor has donated a prize of $100 to be awarded the biggest loser. The second-place prize for the biggest loser will be a month of personalized training by Rocky Taumoepeau at the fitness center, and the third-place prize will be a gift basket of Gia Russa products donated by Charles P. Zidian Jr., personal real estate consultant. The biggest gainer will receive a similar basket of Gia Russa products.

The contest will end with a weigh-in between 8 a.m. and noon May 15 during the Relay for Life Walk at Boardman Middle School. Prizes will be awarded to the winning losers at 3 p.m. by Tim Manoa, No. 42 with the Cleveland Browns, and refreshments will be provided by Uncle Nick’s Greek Fried Chicken, 136 N.
