Officers, chairmen chosen for Cancer Society advisory board

CANFIELD — The American Cancer Society has elected officers and mission chairmen for the 2010-11 Columbiana County Advisory Board.

They will help the society by providing guidance and support to help reduce cancer incidence and mortality throughout Columbiana County.

“Not only will these individuals support the special events that are in place, they will also help to implement programs and work closely with other agencies in Columbiana County so we have a comprehensive approach to reduce cancer,” said Bryon Anzevino, director of community development for the Northeast Ohio American Cancer Society.

The advisory board meets quarterly at the Columbiana County Health Department.

The officers, their position and city of residence are: Bob Zehentbauer, president, Guilford Lake; Bonnie Hoppel, vice president, East Liverpool; Debbie Reese, secretary, East Liverpool; Candace Miles, financial adviser, Wellsville.

The mission chairpeople, their position and city of residence are:

June Semer, quality of life, Poland; Julie Walsh, breast cancer, Struthers; Kimberly Bland, colon cancer, Columbiana; Bonnie Hoppel, primary prevention, East Liverpool; Vicki Curren, marketing/communication, Columbiana; Bob Zehentbauer, government relations, Guilford Lake; Linda Donnalley, income development, Lisbon; Debbie Reese, volunteers, East Liverpool.
