Parochial school celebrates Catholic Schools Week

The students at St. Joseph’s and Immaculate Heart of Mary School enjoyed a fun-filled day of activities outside of the classroom on Wednesday in celebration of Catholic Schools Week.
Students in kindergarten through third grade spent Activities Day at the Skate Zone, while students in fourth through seventh grades went to Wedgewood Lanes.
Eighth-grade students spent the day doing physical fitness activities at Creekside Fitness. The eighth grade also celebrated Catholic Schools Week with its annual science fair. Students presented their science projects on Thursday. Other Catholic Schools Week celebrations included spirit day on Friday and a school-wide spelling bee Jan. 29. Jack Chepke from the fourth grade was named the school’s spelling champion.
The school also hosted an open house for prospective families on Monday and a mass and reception for grandparents and special friends on Tuesday.
