Getting it right

K. Calvin Sommer, who served on the Mill Creek Park Board of Commissioners from 1957 to 1979, died in November 1982. The year of Sommer’s death was incorrect on Page A1 of the Feb. 5 edition of The Vindicator.

An article in the Jan. 30 Vindicator quoted Mayor Michael O’Brien saying he was the only elected Warren official who voluntarily took a pay cut in 2010. Al Novak, a Warren councilman, has been giving back some of his councilman’s pay for about a decade. This year, Auditor David Griffing said, he has deducted $38.19 from Novak’s two-week pay of $411.48 since Jan. 1.
