No silver bullet

No silver bullet

Akron Beacon Journal: There is much to cheer about after the Obama administration’s award of $400 million in federal stimulus dollars to re-establish passenger rail service along the Cleveland-to-Cincinnati corridor. Nearly 6 million people live within 15 miles of the route, making the corridor the most densely populated area of the nation lacking the capacity to put people on the move with greater fuel efficiency and less pollution and congestion than travel by car. Still, the Ohio project is no bullet train, literally or otherwise (with a top speed of 79 miles per hour).
