Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video stores closing in Valley

Closing sales are under way at six Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video locations in the Mahoning Valley as parent-company Movie Gallery Inc., proceeds through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company will close Movie Gallery stores at five local locations — Belmont Avenue in Youngstown, Youngstown-Poland Road in Struthers, Elm Road and Parkman Road in Warren and East Broad Street in Newton Falls. It also will close Hollywood Video on South Avenue in Boardman.

Movie Gallery, based in Wilsonville, Ore., operates about a dozen DVD and game rental stores in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
