Black History Month travel tour scheduled

YOUNGSTOWN — Celebrate Black History Month with a trip Feb. 20 and 21 to Detroit to visit the Carl H. Wright Museum of African-American History and the Greek Town Casino and Hotel.

The price is $140. Overnight accommodations are at the New Greek Town Hotel (double occupancy).

Casino comps include a guided tour of the Wright Museum and $30 in casino comps ($15 Saturday and $15 Sunday).

Canfield Rotary will raffle Valentine overnight prize

CANFIELD — The Rotary Club of Canfield is sponsoring “Valentine for Two,” a raffle fundraiser to benefit Rotary’s Polio Plus Program.

The winner and someone special will enjoy a day of pampering followed by a romantic getaway evening featuring dinner, entertainment, hotel accommodations, jacuzzi, champagne and more on Feb. 13 and 14. While the winner is away, Molly Maids will clean his or her home.

The drawing will take place Saturday. The prize package is valued at more than $1,000.

Chili cook-off Sunday

NEW WATERFORD — Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46, has scheduled a chili cook-off from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the fellowship hall.

Members of the church will prepare the chili. A panel of judges will taste each entr e, and prizes will be awarded to the top three vote-getters.

The free event is open to the public, and bread and butter and homemade ice cream will be served with the chili.

Angels seek young models for American Girl show

BOARDMAN — Angels of Easter Seals is inviting young girls to model with their favorite American Girl Doll in matching outfits at the American Girl Doll Fashion Show.

The show schedule follows: 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 13 and March 14 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. Especially needed are black models and those who are size 6x. The Angels would love to have you join the American Girl Fashion Show.
