Bishop Wagner’s services scheduled

YOUNGSTOWN — Services for Bishop Norman L. Wagner, 68, who died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Health Center, are scheduled Monday through Wednesday next week.

Bishop Wagner was the longtime pastor of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church and former presiding bishop and the diocesan of the 13th Episcopal District.

“The Celebration of a Worshipper” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Calvary Ministries International, 1812 Oak Hill Ave. The “Apostolic— Pentecostal Requiem,” a musical celebration, will feature many gospel artists and other featured guests.

“The Celebration of a Shepherd and Statesman” will be from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Ministries International with public viewing. Services will be at 7 with representatives of civic and political communities.

“The Celebration of a King Among Princes” will be Wednesday at the Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St. Public viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. The national service of home-going will begin at 11.

The presiding bishop, Dr. Horace Smith, will be the eulogist. All Pentecostal Assemblies of the World bishops and leadership are requested to wear their official garb. The interment will be in Green Haven Lawn Cemetery in Canfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary contributions be made payable to Calvary Ministries care of the N.L. Wagner Foundation mailed to 4235 Pebble Beach Drive, Canfield, OH 44406.

The bishop’s wife, Rita Wagner, and daughters, Christian Wagner and Camille Kent, and granddaughter are accepting personal calls of condolences.
