A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

Feb. 1

Theft: A Shelby Street woman accused her former boyfriend of taking her debit card.

Theft: A TV was missing from a home in the 100 block of South Market Street.

Theft: A man stole two bottles of soda and a bag of doughnuts from Santisi’s IGA Super Center, 419 N. State St.

Feb. 2

Threats: A Beechwood Drive man reported receiving several threatening and harassing phone calls.

Identity fraud: A North Ward Avenue man checked his bank account online and found seven unauthorized transactions totaling $1,747 made from a Jacksonville, Fla., store.

Theft: Several pieces of metal, including a grate, were missing from a stockyard in the 1200 block of South State Street.

Feb. 3

Assault: A male student at Girard High School, 31 N. Ward Ave., was charged with assault and being an unruly juvenile after another student reported having been punched twice in the face. The accuser suffered a bloody lip.

Arrest: Authorities responded to a burglary at a residence in the 400 block of Washington Avenue, where they charged Stephanie Romeo of Girard with criminal trespassing, aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Romeo, who was in the home, shouted obscenities at and struggled with police, then tried to kick an officer, a report said.

HUBBARD

Jan. 30

Fraud: A Helen Drive woman told authorities she received a call from Las Vegas claiming she had won $2.5 million but would need to first send $1,700 via Western Union. The woman said she suspected a scam and didn’t send money or give personal information, a report said.

Jan. 31

Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol told Hubbard authorities that Jeremy Moore, no information provided, had been in a vehicular crash and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. Moore was accused of failing to appear for arraignment on a disorderly-conduct charge.

Menacing: Two residents at a home in the 700 block of Elmwood Drive reported being the victims of a pattern of harassment.

Feb. 1

Menacing: A woman reported another female continually banged on the door to a residence in the 300 block of West Liberty Street and was harassing her son.

Feb. 2

Theft: Police charged Patricia Hunt and Shane Waites, no information given, with theft and complicity to theft, respectively, after a shoplifting situation at Family Dollar, 437 E. Liberty St. Both also were wanted on warrants.

Theft: A West Liberty Street woman reported the theft of her medications.

Theft: Officers said they found items during a shoplifting investigation at Walgreens Pharmacy, 15 Main St., that belonged to another person.

LIBERTY

Jan. 29

Drugs: Authorities pulled over 45-year-old Anna Marie Kelly, 1182 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, and charged her with drug abuse after saying she had a bag containing a small quantity of narcotics.

Arrest: Struthers police handed 28-year-old Michael D. Norberg, 547 Fourth St., Struthers, to township authorities. Norberg was wanted on a charge of complicity to theft.

Theft: A Liberty Street woman said $165 had been improperly removed from her debit account.

Theft: A charge was pending against a Youngstown woman, 21, after $360 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road.

Jan. 30

Arrest: Mark T. Desantis, 19, of 829 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, was given a summons on a charge of possession of criminal tools after being pulled over on state Route 304. A digital scale with suspected marijuana stems and seeds was found, police said.

Theft: A man reported several jewelry items and a camcorder stolen from his residence in the 400 block of Liberty Street. The loss came to $3,630.

Recovered property: Police found an abandoned bicycle in the 4700 block of Logan Way.

Theft: The district manager of a Butler, Pa., company discovered six deposits totaling $1,678 had not been made to a Belmont Avenue bank.

Jan. 31

Burglary: Took place in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street, where a door was kicked in. A flat-screen TV, a stereo and speakers, and a name plate were missing, for an estimated loss of $3,050.

Feb. 1

Theft: A Wal-Mart employee chased a shoplifter before police apprehended and charged 39-year-old Anthony D. Elder, 169 N. Richview Ave., Youngstown. He was found with several packs of diapers and other property, a report showed.

Aggravated menacing: Erica M. Jenkins, 25, of 2515 Ohio Ave., Youngstown, faced charges of aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct after officers responded to a fight between a customer and a worker for a Belmont Avenue fast-food restaurant. Jenkins entered the establishment and threatened the employee with a set of box cutters after saying the worker had been rude, refused to give Jenkins her order and slammed a drive-through window closed, a report said.

Feb. 2

Arrest: Township authorities booked 26-year-old Deante J. Paramore, 106 Baldwin Ave., Youngstown, at the Mahoning County jail. Paramore was wanted on a warrant from the township.

Theft: A 51-year-old Hubbard man was stopped but released after razor blades, a key chain, a first-aid kit and an Internet-security software disk were stolen from Wal-Mart.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of 28-year-old Fred R. Smith, 3441 state Route 7, Burghill, who was wanted on several warrants.

Feb. 3

Breaking and entering: To a residence in the 1700 block of Church Hill Road through the front door. Stolen from the basement was about $400 worth of copper tubing.

Recovered property: Police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 3000 block of Frederick Street, where a check revealed the 2006 Pontiac had been stolen in Youngstown.

Theft: A 53-year-old Youngstown man fled after a worker for Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave., said he saw the man open a bottle of a sugar substitute and pour the contents into his pocket.
