Polivka alleges misuse
WARREN — Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka, charged with domestic violence after an incident in August involving his estranged wife, JoAnn, has filed a police report accusing her of making payments to creditors over the Internet using money from his bank account.
Polivka, 46, of Country Club Drive Southeast, filed the police report Monday. The report says JoAnn Polivka used $2,819 from his bank account between Nov. 18, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2009.
JoAnn Polivka filed for divorce from Dan Polivka on May 6, 2009. The couple has one child. The case is pending.
Dan Polivka is scheduled to appear in Warren Municipal Court at 9 a.m. March 9 for a hearing on a misdemeanor charge filed against him Aug. 24 after he reportedly grabbed JoAnn by the neck at Old Avalon Golf Course while she was golfing with a man. If convicted, Polivka could get up to six months in jail.
