One killed in early morning car wreck

YOUNGSTOWN — An early morning one-car accident has killed one person.

Police are not releasing the names of the three people inside the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria that landed on its roof after an accident along the 700 block of Wilson Avenue just after 2 a.m.

According to police, the car swerved left of center on Wilson Avenue at Prospect Street then went onto the grass devil strip, striking a telephone pole. The right front passenger was dead upon police arrival. The driver and a backseat passenger, both described as severely injured, were rushed to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Police have not released a cause for the fatal accident.
