The (Toledo) Blade: It’s too bad the federal Transportation Department’s decision to prohibit interstate bus drivers and almost all truckers from sending text messages while driving doesn’t extend to reading received texts while barreling down the road at superhighway speeds. But it is an important step closer to the goal of eliminating this growing safety hazard on the nation’s roads and streets.

Of all the distractions drivers face — those they can’t control as well as those they can — texting may be the most dangerous.
