Cincy couple sues Toyota over recall
CINCINNATI (AP) — A Cincinnati couple represented by a veteran civil action attorney is suing Toyota over a safety issue that has caused a massive auto recall.
The lawsuit seeks class-action status and unspecified damages against Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. and other affiliates of the automaker. Atty. Stan Chesley filed the lawsuit Tuesday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.
Among other things, the suit says Toyota should take over car payments because owners can’t drive their cars and their value is being hurt.
Plaintiffs Hugh and Pamela Cox say Toyota was slow to acknowledge a safety problem with their 2010 Camry.
Toyota recalled eight models, then halted their sales because of accelerator pedals that could stick.
