Campus closes after car-bus crash near Pittsburgh
WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. (AP) — The Community College of Allegheny County has closed a campus near Pittsburgh after a serious accident involving a car and a Port Authority of Allegheny County bus.
County 911 dispatchers say the crash happened about 8:05 a.m. today on the school’s south campus in West Mifflin, a few miles east of Pittsburgh.
Dispatchers say the woman driving the car was seriously injured and later flown from the scene by a medical helicopter. The bus driver was complaining of leg pain but there were no immediate reports that any bus passengers were hurt.
School officials closed the campus until noon today. Accident reconstructionists from the county police were in the scene.
