Farm-animal housing could be on Nov. ballot

COLUMBUS (AP) — Animal-rights groups are gearing up to ask Ohio voters to approve changes in how farm animals are housed.

The Humane Society of the United States is one of the groups gearing up to collect signatures to put the issue on the November ballot.

The measure they’re proposing would require a new board overseeing livestock care to adopt minimum standards for housing farm animals.
