Two Mooney linemen commit to YSU

Mooney senior offensive linemen Zach Larson and Eric Franklin both made verbal commitments to Youngstown State University on Monday, according to assistant coach Chris Amill.

Larson and Franklin were both first team all-district players and Larson made first team All-Ohio, while Franklin was special mention Al-Ohio.

They are the second and third Cardinals to commit to YSU, joining senior DB Donald D'Alesio. In addition, RB Braylon Heard is headed to Nebraska, safety Ray Vinopal is going to Michigan and QB Alex Zordich is headed to Buffalo.

The Cardinals went 15-0 this fall and won the Div. III state title.
