Police plan more charges after Pa. prep hoop fracas
MONESSEN Pa. (AP) — Police say they’ll file more disorderly conduct charges after watching video of a brawl involving fans and players at a high school boys basketball game in western Pennsylvania.
The brawl began at halftime of a game between Washington and Monessen at Monessen’s gymnasium Friday night.
Police say a girl from each school began fighting in a hallway during halftime. The fight expanded when Monessen police say some Washington fans then turned on some Monessen players.
The second half of the game was played without fans, and one Monessen student has been suspended for 10 days because of his actions on camera.
Police say the new charges to be filed Monday will be based on things caught on camera, too.
Washington won the game 71-52.
