Police say more charges are pending against a 52-year-old Boardman man accused of burglary. Jack A. Bruno Jr. was arrested by the Mahoning County sheriff’s office Monday on charges of receiving stolen property and burglary. Police searched Bruno’s home and garage, finding numerous items reported stolen or suspected of being stolen, such as jewelry, a laptop, rare coins, tools and toy-train sets. Sheriff’s detectives would not comment further. Bruno, who posted bond, has a preliminary hearing Jan. 28.
Spending down
MINERAL RIDGE
Weathersfield Township trustees approved a final 2010 budget of $2.503 million Thursday, as the township spent about $50,000 less than in 2009. The township’s 2009 budget was $2.554 million, clerk Fred Bobovnyk said. “We always try not to overspend, and we did constrain more on what our spending was in 2010,” Bobovnyk said, noting concerns over the next state budget.
