Crash leaves Warren woman in serious condition

The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said it is still investigating a crash at 4 p.m. Thursday on Austintown-Warren Road in Warren Township, a half-mile south of Burnett East Road, which sent one driver to the hospital.

The patrol said Randy J. Garrett, 45, of New Wilmington, Pa., was stopped in a private driveway facing west and tried to back a large truck onto the roadway. Garrett backed into a small car being driven south by Susanna Bridgen, 80, of Warren.

She was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, then flown to Cleveland Metro Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition late Thursday.
