Reardon leads Poland

POLAND

Colin Reardon had a tremendous game for the Poland High boys basketball team, finishing with 29 points and 15 rebounds, to lead the Bulldogs past Austintown Fitch, 60-46, in the Poland Holiday Classic.

Reardon also had six steals for Poland (4-1), which outscored the Falcons 19-9 in the second quarter to take a 30-24 halftime lead.

Drew Wagner added eight points and three assists for Poland and Darius Patton also scored eight points.

Fitch (2-5) was led by Dan Chepke, who poured in 18 points, including three 3-pointers. Jonas Ballard added eight points for the Falcons.

Boardman 55, Canfield 52

POLAND

After trailing 29-18 at halftime, the Cardinals (0-6) went ahead in the fourth quarter. But key foul throws down the stretch by the Spartans (4-4) engineered the victory at the Poland Holiday Classic.

David DiBernardi scored 16 points to lead Boardman while Dayne Hammond had 12.

For Canfield, Danny Campolito’s 26 points included five 3-pointers.

SOUTHERN 73, TORONTO 53

Eric Baker scored 26 points and Trey Griffith added 17 as Southern improved to 7-0 for the first time in school history.

Jake Boyle added 15 points for the Indians, who led 37-29 at halftime.

Aaron Thompson led Toronto with 15 points.

LISBON

Zack Rovnak scored 17 points and Matt Metzgar added 15 for Lisbon (1-5). Metzgar also had six rebounds, and Rovnak had four assists.

ASHTABULA

Elliot Metheny scored 21 points for the Bulldogs in a holiday tournament at Ashtabula.

Lakeview scored 20 points in the third quarter to expand a 24-23 lead into a 44-31 cushion.

The Lakers got scoring from just three players including Brandon Easton who had a 33-point night.
