A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
Dec. 21
Burglary: To a garage in the 7300 block of Clingan Road. Stolen were a generator, a saw and a motorcycle, for an estimated $1,300 loss.
Dec. 23
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a home in the 6800 block of Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road and took a $155 weed trimmer.
BOARDMAN
Dec. 23
Arrest: Ethan P. Love, 19, of 189 Vernia St., East Liverpool, was given a summons charging him with disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Love tried to leave St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus against medical advice, argued with hospital police and caused a scene, a report showed.
Attempted theft: Someone tried to enter a pickup truck at a Doral Drive business and damaged its driver’s-side door.
Theft: Terry L. Carter, 50, of 435 W. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of children’s clothing from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Arrest: Pierre M. Callion, 26, of 406 W. Glenaven Ave., Youngstown, was taken into custody after police pulled him over on Southern Boulevard. Callion was wanted on three charges of failure to appear in court.
Domestic violence: Police charged 38-year-old David N. McComb, 7397 Bonnie Place, Boardman, with the crime after his girlfriend alleged McComb had struck her face during an argument about a Christmas tree.
Theft: A man stole $60 worth of trading cards from Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 381 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A customer rented but failed to return a $225 kerosene heater to Rental Corral Inc., 4627 Market St.
Fraud: An Indianola Road man told police he sent $23,000 to buy gold and silver from a Woodland Hills, Calif., company, yet never received his shipment.
Theft: A $300 firearm was taken from a residence in the 800 block of Afton Avenue.
Attempted burglary: A Youngstown-Poland Road man found pry marks on his garage door, presumably after someone had tried to break in.
Theft: A $500 laptop computer was stolen from a home in the 600 block of Chestnut Lane.
Theft: Cynthia S. Northcott, 33, of 7137 Trenholm Road, Boardman, was arraigned on a felony count after more than $1,168 worth of toys and other items had been stolen from Toys “R” Us, 317 Boardman-Poland Road.
Dec. 24
Theft: Michael Callihan, 40, of 1907 Cardigan St., Niles, was charged with stealing a shirt and a pair of jeans from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall. He also was wanted on two warrants, including a felony parole-violation charge.
Theft: Officers booked 40-year-old Shannon R. Hooks, 321 E. Garfield Ave., New Castle, Pa., who was accused of stealing two shirts from Macy’s.
Theft: Lisa A. Winwood, 30, of 506 Park Ave., Girard, faced charges of theft and drug abuse after a $12 wallet was stolen from Macy’s. She also had seven pills, police said.
Domestic violence: Alec J.R. Neapolitan, 18, of 124 S. Cadillac Drive, Boardman, was charged with domestic violence and obstructing official business after police said Neapolitan admitted having punched his father’s stomach and face during an argument. The younger Neapolitan then fled from the residence on foot, a report said.
Theft: A driver’s license, a checkbook, a wallet and money were removed from a vehicle in the 6300 block of South Avenue.
Theft: A woman reported the theft of a set of keys at a Market Street store.
Burglary: To a home in the 6000 block of Tam-O-Shanter Drive through the garage. Taken were $210, a glass bowl and a jar.
Counterfeit: A housekeeper at a Tiffany Boulevard motel reported finding several fake bills in a room.
Possible theft: A woman at a Doral Drive store realized her wallet was lost or stolen.
Assault: A New Middletown man at a Doral Drive business reported another man punched his face.
Theft: A woman in her 40s stole $113 worth of merchandise from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 50 block of Carter Circle, from which a $500 laptop computer was missing.
Dec. 25
Criminal damaging: Two people in the 300 block of Tudor Lane discovered damage to a satellite dish, and that someone had cut a vehicle’s fan belt.
Dec. 26
Drugs: A traffic stop on Wildwood Drive led to the arrest of 55-year-old Gary L. McKee, 429 Wildwood, on charges of driving under suspension and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. McKee, who was under five license suspensions, also had a bag of suspected marijuana, police said.
Theft: Harriet T. Perantinides, 32, of 278 Park Drive, Campbell, was charged, accused of switching price tags on binders and stealing diet pills from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: Trevor T. Ishee, 18, of Norwalk, Ohio, and a 17-year-old Warren girl were charged in the theft of eight pairs of earrings from Macy’s.
Criminal damaging: A storm-door window was shattered in the 100 block of Erskine Avenue.
Theft: A man left Sawa Steak House in Southern Park Mall without paying a $61 food bill.
Theft: Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox game systems, a paint-ball gun and seven video games were stolen from a residence in the 5200 block of Trotter Drive.
Domestic violence: Juan A. Cruz, 25, of 7035 Paxton Road, Boardman, was charged after a family member alleged Cruz had grabbed and squeezed her wrist, causing discoloration.
Theft: Derrick A. Gabriel, 21, of 1971 McGuffey Road, Youngstown, was charged with stealing a $50 pair of tennis shoes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.
Dec. 27
Assault: A South Avenue man sought medical treatment for injuries he sustained after reporting another man had struck his face 10 times and kicked him at the accuser‘s residence.
Identity theft: A Pioneer Drive woman discovered her personal information had been used to obtain several services.
Auto theft: A 1987 Buick Century was stolen in the 100 block of Lemans Drive.
Theft: Two $1,500 gold rings and money were stolen from a home in the 6100 block of Northlawn Avenue.
Arrest: Police working a security detail at a Glenwood Avenue church charged 18-year-old Michael J. Rossi, 5333 Shadow Creek Drive, Boardman, with underage possession of alcohol.
Assault: Jarrod J. Taybus, 29, of 4525 Euclid Blvd., Boardman, surrendered to authorities. He was accused of punching a man who pulled into a driveway on Grover Drive.
Dec. 28
Domestic violence: A 16-year-old township girl was charged after her mother alleged the enraged teen had punched the accuser’s forehead, struck her with a purse, bit her arm and scratched her during an argument.
