Maryland wins own tourney

Diandra Tchatchouang scored 15 of her 19 points in the first half, and No. 18 Maryland beat No. 17 St. John’s 66-60 on Wednesday to win the Terrapin Classic.

Junior Lynetta Kizer scored 13 points to go over 1,000 in her career for the Terrapins (12-1), who never trailed in their 11th straight victory.

Eugeneia McPherson scored 25 and Da’Shena Stevens added 15 for St. John’s (12-2), which was playing a ranked team for the first time this year. Maryland ended the Red Storm’s 11-game winning streak.

St. John’s became the first team to outrebound Maryland this season, 37-35.

The Red Storm made just two of their first 16 field goal attempts but never trailed by more than seven in the first half.

A 3-pointer by Anjale Barrett gave Maryland a 56-40 lead but Shenneika Smith made a 3 with 2:07 left to pull the Red Storm within seven.

No. 11 Kentucky 81, Middle Tennessee State 72

LEXINGTON, Ky.

Victoria Dunlap scored 13 points in the second half, including nine during a decisive run, to help Kentucky beat Middle Tennessee State.

Keyla Snowden scored 16 points to lead the Wildcats (10-1).

Trailing 64-54 with 7:22 left, Kentucky went on a 19-4 run to take control.

No. 15 Oklahoma 118, Arkansas Pine-Bluff 52

NORMAN, Okla.

Freshman Arryn Ellenberg scored 29 points and Morgan Hook added 21 to help Oklahoma rout Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

Danielle Robinson added 21 points, nine assists and five steals for Oklahoma (10-2), which had 21 steals and 27 assists to go along with its season-high point total.

NO. 16 NOTRE DAME 70, GONZAGA 61

Natalie Novosel scored a career-high 27 points to help Notre Dame beat Gonzaga.

Skylar Diggins added 19 for Notre Dame (10-3).

No. 20 Iowa State 85, Florida A&M 60

AMES, Iowa

Kelsey Bolte scored a career-high 28 points and Iowa State used a big run in each half to roll past Florida A&M in the Cyclone Challenge.

Hallie Christofferson added 10 points, while Lauren Mansfield had 10 assists and seven rebounds for the Cyclones (9-2).
