Girard Junior Women donate to care center

The spirit of giving: Sister Midge, Lisa Petro, Roberta Lawrentz of Girard Junior Women, and Sister Marjorie, from left to right, display a check that was presented to the Emmanuel Care Center in Girard. The check is from Girard Junior Women, who sponsor fundraisers that benefit the Girard community. GJW donates annually to the Emmanuel Care Center, which provides for the needy families of Girard. For Thanksgiving the group donated 400 bags of food and IGA gift certificates, and for Christmas they donated 600 presents. The center houses transitional families.
