HandsOn Volunteer Network will host a strategy meeting for local nonprofit organizations and community initiative groups Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.
The seminar will focus on how organizations can work together effectively to drive service and volunteerism.
The workshop will help groups re-tool how they approach and manage volunteers in their missions.
The Volunteer Network will also share information about new products and training that will be launched in 2011.
Registration is required. Participating organizations must represent a nonprofit or community-based organization.

Good Evening, Niles! event scheduled

The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber will host its Good Evening, Niles! event Jan. 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Alberini’s restaurant, 1201 Youngstown-Warren Road.
The event will celebrate the beginning of the new year with gourmet food and an opportunity for Chamber members and guests to network with their neighbors and colleagues.
The cost to attend is $20 for Chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Reservations must be made by Friday.

Innovation awards will be Feb. 24

The 2011 NorTech Innovation Awards will take place Feb. 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at LaCentre Conference and Banquet Center, 25777 Detroit Road.
The awards, sponsored by NorTech and Crain’s Cleveland Business, will honor the success and achievements of nine companies, entrepreneurs, universities and nonprofit organizations in Northeast Ohio’s growing technology community.
Single tickets are $60 and group tables of eight are $410. Advance reservations are required.
