The Northeast Ohio International Trade Assistance Center was recently recognized as Ohio’s top-performing international trade assistance center for 2010. The annual performance award is based on the number of export counseling hours logged by the centers and the number of companies served. The Northeast Ohio International Trade Assistance Center is run by the Northeast Ohio Trade & Economic Consortium as part of the Ohio Department of Development’s Small Business Development Center program.

Youngstown native Carmi Paris has been re-elected to the Software & Information Industry Association Education Division’s Board of Directors for 2011. In this role, Paris will work with the board of the software trade association to develop and prioritize educational initiatives. She is senior vice president of corporate development and channel strategies for Spectrum K12 School Solutions and sits on the board of the Marblehead Charter School in Marblehead, Mass. Paris is a graduate of Youngstown State University and previously worked as a teacher in Hubbard.

Cohen & Company, a regional accounting firm, has been nationally recognized as one of 2010’s “Best Accounting Firms to Work For” by Accounting Today and Best Companies Group. This is the third consecutive year that the company has been honored in the medium-size class. The firm was recognized for its company culture and dedication to its employees.
