Leaning clock tower gets straight

MEDINA, Ohio

The leaning tower of Medina lost some of its tilt last week.

The Akron Beacon Journal newspaper reports crews installed metal columns to straighten a clock tower on top of an old courthouse in Northeast Ohio.

Medina County administrator Chris Jakab calls the attempt to brace the tower a “Band-Aid approach” until officials can come up with a permanent solution.

The Beacon Journal reports it would cost $500,000 to restore the clock tower. The temporary fix cost $18,000.
