Santa visits Watson before the big night
Santa sure knows how to make an entrance! He hitched a ride to Watson with a little help from the Austintown Fire Department's Engine 156.

The Austintown Fire Department knew Santa’s reindeer needed to rest up for the big night on Christmas eve, so they offered Santa a ride to Watson PTA’s Christmas Lunch in their Engine 156 fire truck on Dec. 11.
The Watson PTA offered a relaxing and fun event as a thank you for a year of hard work.
“We wanted to show our appreciation for our wonderful families by offering a fun day to meet Santa and feel all the Christmas cheer,” said Watson PTA historian Jodie West.
Knowing the wait for Santa is excruciating, the PTA offered face painting, raffles, crafts, and a letters to Santa station to keep students busy as they counted down the minutes.
The raffles included donated family-friendly goods from Austintown Wal-Mart, O’Donalds, Fifth Season Restaurant and Unique for U Florist.
As loud sirens from Austintown fire engine 156 echoed outside Watson, the students’ eyes lit up before running outside to greet Mr. Claus. Maya Gamertsfelder had the first chance to talk to Santa.
“Have you been good this year, Maya?” Santa asked.
“Of course,” Gamertsfelder answered. “At school and home.”
