Fans of “The Chronicles of Narnia” book and movie series got a chance to travel once again to Narnia on Dec. 4, with some help from Regal Cinemas and the Austintown library.
In anticipation for the Dec. 10 release of “The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” guests were offered lemonade and cookies and a chance to win free tickets to the opening showing at Austintown Commons 10.
“Our library welcomes chances like this. With our Narnia story time, we’ve reached out to a community business and we’re also highlighting a wonderful, kid-friendly book with an exciting story time,” said Mahoning County libraries Developing Director Deborah Liptak.
The story time was provided by Regal Cinemas employees Sam Egry and Mike Jennifer, who dressed up as Narnia characters Prince Caspian and Aslan the lion for the reading.
Egry then read the first three chapters of “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe,” bringing the audience back to the Pevensie family’s first trip to Narnia. After the story time, Egry and Jennifer handed out free tickets, much to the excitement of Phillip Coggins and his family.
“Now we can all go together!” Coggins said to his brothers and sisters.
