West Branch students participate in project

The ‘write’ holiday project: An Operation Holiday Cheer article in The Vindicator inspired students in West Branch High Schools’ Freshmen Focus mentoring program to write to area men and women who are serving in the military and unable to be home for the holidays. As a result 16 of those will receive cards, a class picture, personal letters, and a letter explaining that Focus is a yearlong program in which 11th- and 12th-grade students mentor freshmen by providing lessons on a variety of personal, social, academic and career topics. Displaying some of the “write” stuff are, from left in front, Robert Brand and Zach Altman, and in back, Taylor Metzgar; Parker Zamarelli; Erica Polinori and Brenda Sharp, mentor teachers; Kahliel Fletcher; Molly Wyss; and Hayley Kozar.
