Trumbull commissioner robbed while he slept

WARREN

Police say an SUV, a flat-screen television and a cell phone were stolen from the Country Club Drive home of Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka early Tuesday morning while Polivka slept inside.

Polivka told police the garage door had been left open and a door connecting the garage to the kitchen was unlocked.

The commissioner said when he woke up, he saw the keys to his 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe were missing along with a 42-inch flat-screen television and his wallet, which contained $100.

Police say the SUV was later recovered on North Feederle Drive along with Polivka’s wallet and a briefcase, but the money, television and the commissioner’s cell phone were gone.

Polivka could not be reached for comment.
