Tigers top YCS on 3 by Rogers

Ron Rogers scored 17 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with three seconds remaining, to lift the Springfield High boys basketball team to a 48-46 win over Youngstown Christian on Tuesday.
Brad Ferraro added 10 points for the Tigers (4-1).
For Youngstown Christian, Louis Lee had 15 points, Anthony Walker 12 and Jordan McDowell 10.
Struthers 75, Niles 43
NILES
Nate Jacubec scored 26 points and Struthers raced out to a 24-4 lead after the first quarter.
Adam Ryczaj added 15 points and Jake Jacubec 11 for the Wildcats (5-0).
For Niles, Ray Russ scored 10.
Newton Falls 61, Windham 52
NEWTON FALLS
Senior Tyler Kernen had a season-high 21 points, while Cody Dillon added 17 points for the Tigers (3-1), who stayed in the lead throughout.
Newton Falls’ lone loss was to Struthers.
Matt Rickey’s 17 points paced Windham.
Liberty 57, Howland 53
LIBERTY
Preston Williams had 15 points and Jaylen Mann 13 for Liberty, which made 21 field goals to Howland’s 18.
Both teams made 10 free throws.
Dontea Dawson had 19 points to lead Howland, which fell behind after leading at the half, 28-23.
Lakeview 65, Beaver Local 41
Elliot Metheny scored 16 points and Louie Novakovich had 12 for Lakeview (2-3), which took a 16-4 lead after the first quarter and rolled to the win.
For Beaver Local (0-4), Nick Miller had 10.
Crestview 60, Leetonia 48
LEETONIA
Brian Orr scored 15 points to lead three Rebels in double figures and Crestview outscored Leetonia 22-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Carter Hill had 11 points with three steals and six assists and Evan Stewart added 10 points for Crestview (3-1).
For Leetonia, Cody Stokes scored 24 and Ian Sevenich 11.
Jackson-Milton 59, Lisbon 45
LISBON
Jacob Carlile scored 21 points, Bobby Schnellbach had 16 and John Gherardi 12 to lead Jackson-Milton (2-3).
For Lisbon (1-4), Zack Rovnak had 20.
Southern 63, United 38
HANOVERTON
Trey Griffith had 21 points, Eric Baker added 16 and Luke Griffith and Mike Hipsley had 10 apiece for the Indians (6-0), who outscored United in the second half, 32-17.
Matt Gatchell had 10 points and 11 rebounds for United (0-4).
Carrollton 67, West Branch 33
BELOIT
John Lowdermilk scored 14 points and Chris Ericksen 10 for Carrollton (6-0), which jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter lead in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.
Troy James scored seven points for WB (1-4).
Badger 67, Mathews 45
KINSMAN
Badger outscored Mathews in the second quarter, 22-5, with a combination of rebounding and shot-making.
Senior forward Kyle Myers had 18 points and senior guard John Moy added 16 for the Braves (2-2). Kenny Bolyard had 14 of Badger’s 30 rebounds.
For Mathews (1-3), Cole O’Dell had 15 of his 19 points in the second half, including 10 in the final quarter. O’Dell also had five of the Mustangs’ 16 rebounds.
