BROOKFIELD

Police say it will likely be six to eight weeks before any additional action is taken in the death of a Masury man.

Ray Foster, 45, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. On Monday, the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office called his death a homicide, and the preliminary findings for cause of death is complications from blunt force trauma.

According to Brookfield police, Foster sustained the injuries from a fight Nov. 20 at R.P. McMurphy’s Sports Bar and Grill on Standard Avenue in Masury. Police said the bar owners, Paul Driscoll, 33, and David Driscoll, 36, are accused in the beating after a beer was thrown at the back door.

The brothers are charged with aggravated assault and are free on bond.

Brookfield Police Chief Dan Faustino said that detectives have been in contact with the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s office and the Mahoning County Coroner’s office. He said that prosecutors are waiting to receive the final autopsy report before taking further action, such as filing addition charges, which could take six to eight weeks.

“Anything that we do will be in conjunction with the prosecutor’s office and at their recommendation,” Faustino said.
