Polar Bear Jump
SHARON, Pa.
The third annual Shenango Polar Bear Jump will be Jan. 1 at Quaker Steak and Lube downtown.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. Participants will jump into the Shenango River at noon.
The event is free. T-shirts will be available for purchase, and donations will be accepted. Also included will be a 50/50 raffle, games, discounts on lunch for jumpers and music. Profits benefit Joshua’s Haven homeless shelter.

Fire destroys house
WARREN
A vacant house at 1324 Oak St. SW is a total loss of about $20,000 after a fire at 5:13 p.m. Sunday. The fire department has evidence that the fire was intentional and is investigating. There were no injuries.
Bomb threat
BAZETTA
Trumbull County Emergency Dispatch said it received a call from Walmart at 8:54 p.m. Saturday about a bomb threat. Bazetta police and fire departments responded but found nothing.
The store was told it had 90 minutes to evacuate customers and employees. The call was cleared by 10:37.
