Holiday tea is fundraiser for meeting house

Tiny Tim and tea: The 50 women attending the Holiday Tea Luncheon hosted by the Harding Park Meeting House committee in Hubbard on Dec. 11 were greeted with a cheery “ ’ello” from Tiny Tim, played by Nathan Clark, above, who invited them for a “lovely cup of tea.” As they enjoyed a five-course lunch, Linda Ruggles on the piano and Sarah Clark on the harp entertained the diners. State Sen. Capri Cafaro was among the guests. The tea luncheon fundraiser, hosted by the nonprofit Harding House committee and Hubbard Rotary, contributes to the goal of building the Harding Park Meeting House. The meeting house will incorporate parts of the original 1857 church that once stood on Liberty Street and a section will be dedicated to a historical view of the building over the years, featuring artifacts and photos dating back to 1857.
