Pernottos’ party marks 50th year of marriage

AUSTINTOWN
Blue Wolf Banquet Center in Youngstown was the site of a surprise celebration Dec. 12 honoring Mr. and Mrs. Mike Pernotto of Austintown for their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts of the party, the couple’s children and their families, extended invitations for the afternoon event.
The Pernottos’ children are Michelle M. Carter of Avon Lake, Christine A. Curtis of Austintown, and Linda L. Titus of Boardman, and the family includes four grandchildren.
The former Donna Jean Hughes and Mr. Pernotto were married Dec. 10, 1960, at the Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown. They are members of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.
Mrs. Pernotto worked as a teacher’s aide in special education for the Austintown Board of Education. She retired in 2008. She is a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and State Employees Retirement System.
Mr. Pernotto worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Youngstown and Boardman before retiring in 1987. He is a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and Curbstone Coaches.
