After selling magazines to raise money for their school, 14 Watson Elementary students deserved a reward for their hard work.

The students who sold 10 magazines or more were treated to a limo ride and complimentary lunch at Golden Corral in Boardman. As kindergartner Mason Rusu climbed into the stretch limo provided by Fab Limousines on Dec. 3, he shared his excitement.

“A limo drove past my house once, but I’ve never been in one until now!”

Because it was the first limo ride for many of the students, chaperone Lynn Mickey made sure the experience was entertaining by singing Christmas carols like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

Once the students arrived at Golden Corral, they were allowed to explore the buffet. For second-grader Amani Wahi-Ramahi, that meant getting two heaping bowls of orange sherbet. She was all smiles as she ate her treat.

“They only allow us one treat during lunch at school. I’m making this worth it,” she explained.
