Warren Harding prevailed against Cleveland Heights, 59-56, in what has become an intense rival for the school. The Raiders (3-1) got 18 points, which led the team and the game, from Tre’ Brown. Behind him were Shaheed Davis and Jesse Hardin with 10 each. Hardin hit two of the team’s four 3-pointers. Brown had one, as did J.D. Parker.

Canton McKinley 71, Boardman 49

CANTON

Da’Vontai Rorie scored 21 points to lead three McKinley players in double figures and the Bulldogs rolled to a 23-6 lead after the first quarter in the Federal League game. Mike Mills scored 12 points for McKinley (3-0, 2-0) and Da’Onta Streeter added 11. Brian Butts and Alex Passas each had nine for Boardman (1-3, 0-2).

Canton South 46, West Branch 37

CANTON

West Branch watched as an early first-quarter lead evaporated and turned into a 19-6 run by Canton South. The Warriors (1-3) tried to put a dent in the lead, but ran out of time. Tyler Rockwell paced the team and the game with his 15 points. James Lucas and Bryson Smith each had 12 for Canton South (2-1).

Massillon 64, East 46

YOUNGSTOWN

Devin Smith had 19 points, four rebounds, two steals, three assists and two blocks to lead Massillon (1-1), while Jordan Toles added 13 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks. The Tigers led 25-18 at halftime, then outscored the Panthers 20-11 in the third quarter to end the suspense. For East (0-3), Joe Villanueva had 12 points and two rebounds and Jaylen Marrow had 11 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and three assists.

Pymatuning Valley 57, Lordstown 44

LORDSTOWN

A strong fourth quarter led the Lakers (3-1) to a win on the road. Brandon Easton led the team with 24 points, and Austin Nowakoski contributed 17 in the victory. The Red Devils (1-3) got 17 points out of Mike Schaffer and 11 points, including the team’s only three-pointer from Steven Cribley.
