Monday Medicare check-up canceled

A Medicare checkup eventset for Monday at the offices of Area Agency on Aging 11 in Niles is canceled.

Anyone who needs assistance in picking a Medicare or prescription drug plan is invited to attend an agency-sponsored event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Emmanuel Church, 108 Indianola Ave., Youngstown.

Anyone who is eligible for Medicare has until Dec. 31 to pick or switch a plan.

If nothing is done, the current plan will remain in effect for the coming year until the next open-enrollment period.
