McDonald offense explodes in Tier Two win over Bears

McDONALD

Nick Rota scored 26 points to lead five Blue Devils in double figures as McDonald beat Leetonia 101-58 in a Tier Two game. Tony Ingalls had 19 points with six rebounds, Justin Rota had 16 points with seven assists, Matthias Tayala 16 points and Stephen Politano 10 as McDonald scored at least 20 in every quarter. Cody Stokes had 15 to lead the Bears.

Wellsville 69, Lowellville 65

WELLSVILLE

Michael Johnston scored 29 points to lift Wellsville, which took a 61-46 lead entering the fourth. Anthony Alfano scored 22 for Lowellville in the Tier Two game.

Sebring 65, W. Reserve 43

SEBRING

Dakota Wagner netted 14 points to lead the Trojans (3-1, 1-1 Tier Two). Aaron vanKirk scored 13 points and had 11 of his team’s 27 rebounds. Seamus Johnson contributed 10 points. For the Blue Devils, Riley Sheptock scored 18 points.

Southern 60, J.-Milton 55

SALINEVILLE

Eric Baker poured in 28 points and Jake Boyle added 12 for Southern (4-0), which outscored Jackson-Milton 14-9 in the second quarter to grab control of the Tier Two game. Bobby Schnellbach had 22 points and Zach Nagy 10 for the Bluejays.

East Palestine 56, Lisbon 49

EAST PALESTINE

Corey Wright scored 18 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked eight shots for the Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0 ITCL Tier One). Brett Foreman scored 17 points while Adam Robb scored 11 points and made 10 rebounds. For the Blue Devils (1-3, 0-1), Drew Sweeney scored 14 points and Matt Metzgar had 11 with 10 rebounds and three steals.

Columbiana 80, M. Ridge 50

COLUMBIANA

Twenty-six first-quarter points paved the way for Columbiana (2-2). Luke Barker and Zach Chaplow each had a game-high 17 points, and Austin Barbato was right behind them with 15 points. Jake DeLong also contributed 11.

The Rams (0-3) were led by Kyle Hanshaw with 16 points.

South Range 57, United 35

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Andy Lacefield scored 16 points while Brandon Pluchinsky’s 14 points included four 3-pointers for the Raiders. For the Eagles (0-3, 0-2 Inter Tri-County League), Brett Albright scored 11 points.
