COLUMBIA, MO.

Laurence Bowers scored 17 points and Missouri avenged last season’s defeat. Marcus Denmon added 16 points for the Tigers (9-1), who used an 18-2 run in taking a 13-point halftime lead. Missouri held Oral Roberts to 26 percent shooting from the field. Dominique Morrison led the Golden Eagles (4-6) with 18 points and Damen Bell-Holter finished with 10 and a career-high 17 rebounds.

No. 18 Memphis 70, Austin Peay 68, OT

MEMPHIS, TENN.

Chris Crawford scored six of his 18 points in overtime, Charles Carmouche had 16 points and keyed a second-half rally and Memphis beat Austin Peay. Austin Peay had the ball out of bounds with .7 seconds left in overtime, but couldn’t get off a shot, although the Governors’ bench was calling for a foul on the play. TyShwan Edmondson led the Governors (6-6) with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Northwestern 78, American U. 62

EVANSTON, ILL.

John Shurna scored 28 points and Michael Thompson added 23 as Northwestern remained undefeated. The Wildcats (7-0) are off to their best start since 1993-94, when they won their first nine. Shurna, a junior, became the 30th Northwestern player to surpass 1,000 points, finishing the night with 1,012. Luka Mirkovic added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Northwestern. Vlad Moldoveanu led the Eagles (6-4) with 21 points.

Keisha Hampton scored 23 of her 27 points in the second, Felicia Chester had a career-high 24 and DePaul routed Stanford, denying Cardinal coach Tara VanDerveer her 800th career victory.

Sophomore guard Emily Smerchansky (Girard) scored a career-high 17 points for Hiram (4-3). Junior Tiffany Shields had 20 points and Jessica Cowan had 17. Smerchansky scored 15 of her 17 points from behind the arc. Brittany Spencer led the Yellow Jackets (7-1) with 30 points
