Charges to be filed in hunter’s death

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Prosecutors say they plan to charge a suburban Philadelphia lawyer in the death of a hunter found fatally shot on the first day of deer season.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s office says David Manilla will be charged Friday in the death of 52-year-old Barry Groh. Prosecutors declined to specify what charges Manilla faces.

Groh was found dead November 29 in Richland. The Quakertown man was fatally shot by a high-powered rifle after killing a buck near a property owned by Manilla. Rifles are illegal for hunting in Bucks County.

An attorney for Manilla did not immediately return a phone message left Friday morning by the Associated Press.
