A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Dec. 9
Menacing: An East Broadway Avenue girl said someone had posted an insulting comment about another person on the accuser’s Facebook page without her knowledge.
Criminal mischief: Two sinks and a toilet were damaged in a restroom at the Girard Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.
Robbery: A woman returning to her North Highland Avenue apartment reported a man with short blond hair in a white vest sneaked up and forcibly stole her purse as she entered.
Dec. 11
Trespassing: A woman reported a man forced his way into her Dearborn Avenue residence during a dispute and broke several items.
Assault: A man at a West Liberty Street restaurant told police someone had pushed him out the door, causing the victim to fall and injure his knees and hands.
Dec. 12
Theft: A $60 Christmas tree was removed from a yard in the 200 block of East Wilson Avenue.
Theft: A man borrowed but refused to return a $200 Wii game system to a Belgrade Avenue woman.
Theft: A prescription bag was stolen from a car in the 30 block of West Liberty Street.
Attempted breaking and entering: Someone opened a basement window in an effort to break into a residence in the 100 block of Trumbull Avenue, though no entry was made.

Dec. 8
Menacing: A Duer Court woman reported a man drove past her residence several times and made threatening hand gestures.
Dec. 9
Burglary: To a home in the 400 block of Erie Street. Police recovered an MP3 player thought to have been stolen.
Dec. 11
Menacing: A Westview Drive male reported being the victim of a pattern of harassment.
Assault: A Hillview Drive woman alleged that a neighbor had pushed her daughter.
Recovered property: A woman found a debit card in a parking lot in the 200 block of North Main Street.
Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter Pagz Bar & Grill, 119 N. Main St., through a rear door.
Dec. 12
Theft: A global-positioning-system unit and a portable DVD player were stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of East Water Street.
LIBERTY
Dec. 8
Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to charges of possession of marijuana and dangerous drugs against Clifton Daugherty, 25, of 1350 Naylor-Lloyd Road, Girard, after officers said a bag of suspected marijuana was found. Also taken into custody was 30-year-old Sherrill D. Peyatt Jr., same address, on a charge of passing bad checks.
Theft: A woman reported the theft of her purse at a Goldie Road store.
Identity theft: A Biscayne Avenue man reported receiving a notice stating he would get a credit card for which he had never applied. Nevertheless, the man did not suffer a financial loss.
Arrest: Police picked up 28-year-old Mark W. Wagner, 2212 Robbins Ave., Niles, who was accused of failing to appear in court on a theft charge from the township.
Dec. 9
Vandalism: A woman returned to her Green Acres Drive apartment and discovered damage to her car’s driver’s-side door, rear taillight and windshield wipers.
Dec. 10
Breaking and entering: Someone kicked open an office door at a mobile-home park off Belmont Avenue, though nothing seemed to be missing.
Theft: A 30-year-old Canfield man was accused of renting but failing to return an item for carpet installation to Rental Corral, 1530 Gypsy Lane.
Dec. 11
Arrest: Ivan D. West, 25, was taken into custody at his home, 566 E. Liberty St., Liberty, on a warrant from Boardman charging him with domestic violence.
Trespassing: Authorities charged 35-year-old Frank A. Myers, 195 Mansell Drive, Liberty, with criminal trespassing after saying Myers had created a disturbance in the 3000 block of North Gate Road, despite having been asked not to return to the property.
Recovered property: A wallet was found in the 1300 block of Church Hill Road, though no one had come forward to claim it.
Dec. 12
Drugs: Police checked a vehicle in the 200 block of Colonial Drive, then charged 47-year-old Cynthia Matsouris, 3473 Meanderwood Drive, Canfield, and Lori M. Fiscus, 50, of 2910 Oakland Ave., Youngstown, with possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia. Eight loose pills and a suspected crack pipe were among the contraband found, a report said.
Arrest: While responding to a dispute in the 1600 block of West Montrose Street, officers arrested 37-year-old Kevin E. Bowser, 4810 Logan Way, Hubbard, on two counts of theft.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s driver’s-side window was broken in the 3600 block of Belmont Avenue.
Theft: Stephanie M. White, 29, of Akron, faced a felony charge after $511 worth of merchandise had been stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.
