Radio station changes format to news/talk

YOUNGSTOWN

Radio station WSOM-AM 600 abruptly changed its format Monday to all news and talk. The station had previously played adult standards from the past and present, said Gary Rhamy, who was the station’s morning-show host. Calls to the station for comment were not returned.

First Night to have volunteer meeting

Easy Street provides tickets to the needy

Easy Street Productions has launched the Share the Miracle project to donate tickets for this weekend’s “Miracle on Easy Street” performances to those in need.

For every ticket purchase, Easy Street will donate an equal number of tickets to local charities and shelters. Ticket-buyers must call Easy Street before Thursday at 330-743-8555 and say they’d like to “share the miracle.”

Easy Street has donated more than 200 tickets to Trumbull County Children Services and Tickets for Kids. Both organizations help needy families attend events.

Show times for “Miracle on Easy Street,” a holiday musical revue, are 8 p.m. Friday; 2:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at Powers Auditorium, 260 W. Federal St. Tickets are $25 ($20 for seniors/students, and $12 for children age 12 and under). Children of active servicemen and women will be admitted free.

‘CATS’ musical tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale for the musical “CATS,” which will be at the Palace Theatre from Jan. 21-23 for five shows. Prices range from $10 to $60. Tickets are available at the PlayhouseSquare ticket office; via phone at 216-241-6000; and at PlayhouseSquare.org.

Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21; 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22; and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23. The national tour is the only production of “CATS” in North America sanctioned by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
