Ohio pair arrested for stealing sewer grates
CLEVES, Ohio (AP) — Two people have been arrested in the alleged thefts of nearly three dozen sewer grates from Ohio communities west of Cincinnati.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s authorities say the man and woman attempted to sell the grates to a metals recycling business Monday evening. Police were called, and they say the suspects fled and discarded the grates.
Twenty-two-year-old Patricia Grimsley was subsequently arrested and charged with four counts of theft and one count of attempted theft. Twenty-four-year-old Thomas Coyne was charged with receiving stolen property.
The village of Cleves residents were being held Tuesday pending court action. No attorneys were listed for them.
