Man faces charges

Police arrested a 30-year-old township man at an Applecrest Court apartment on drug and weapons charges.

Officers received a search warrant for Matthew J. Johnson’s apartment Dec. 9 and the next day, entered the premises. Police said they found crack cocaine, heroin, a digital scale and a loaded 9mm pistol among other evidence.

Johnson was arrested and taken to the Mahoning County jail on $24,500 bond. He faces a misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia and four felonies: weapons under disability, trafficking in crack cocaine, possession of heroin and receiving stole property.
