Winter storm warning issued through Wednesday morning for Mahoning Valley
The National Weather Service today issued a winter storm warning for the Mahoning Valley that will remain in effect from 7 p.m. today until 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Earlier the region was under a winter storm watch.
A warning means the region will experience significant severe weather that could be a threat to life and property.
According to the NWS, rain will change to snow late this afternoon as temperatures fall to around 30. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Expect snow tonight with accumulations up to 3 inches. Much colder with lows around 17.
On Monday, the forecast calls for heavy snow, with additional accumulations of up to 5 inches.
Brisk and much colder with highs in the lower 20s on Monday. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph.
Snow is also likely Tuesday and Wednesday.
Up to 2 feet of snow may be possible in some areas of the Valley, particularly northern Trumbull County.
