Robert Morris defeats YSU

CORAOPOLIS, Pa.
Karon Abraham scored a career-high 26 points as Robert Morris routed Youngstown State 90-60 on Saturday night.
The Colonials (4-5) shot 31-of-54 from the floor (57.4 percent), including 13-for-24 from 3-point range, including eight in the first half, en route to their second win in the past six games.
Lijah Thompson scored 16 points, Velton Jones added 15, Russell Johnson 12 and Yann Charles 10 for Robert Morris.
Robert Morris led 50-26 at halftime after ending the half on a 17-5 run. The 50 points scored by the Colonials in the opening half were more than they scored in their previous game — an 82-49 loss at West Virginia on Dec. 7.
The Colonials extended their lead to 68-36 after a 3 from Johnson with 13:07 remaining and held Youngstown State to 13-of-34 shooting (38.2 percent) in the second half.
Vytas Sulskis scored 12 points, and Ashen Ward and Tre Brewer added 10 each for the Penguins (4-4) in the loss.
YSU jumped out to an 8-5 advantage after a 3-pointer by Sulskis at the 17-minute mark.
But Robert Morris responded with a 17-5 run over the next five minutes to take a nine-point lead, 22-13, with 12:39 left.
Sulskis hit another 3-pointer and after the teams traded baskets, the Colonials led by six, 24-18 with 11:15 to go in the half.
Youngstown State hosts Malone on Monday at 7:05 p.m. at Beeghly Center.
