Alexander’s Diagnostic, a full-service repair garage, has opened at 4443 New Road. The staff at the new garage can fix brakes, heater cores, air conditioning and radiators and provide tune-ups and oil changes. The business will also perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements.

NorTech Energy Enterprise will host an interactive workshop on transportation electrification Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon at Corporate College East, 4400 Richmond Road. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain global insights from national experts who will provide information on vehicle and infrastructure technologies, emerging global markets and the policies and regulations that will drive and shape growth in the field.

Speakers include Britta Gross, director of global energy systems and infrastructure commercialization at General Motors; Mark Duvall, director of electric transportation and energy storage at the Electric Power Research Institute; Veerender Kaul, research director of Frost & Sullivan’s Automotive and Transportation Practice; and Dean Taylor, senior program manager in the Electric Transportation Division of Southern California Edison.

Chamber workshop to help with interns

The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber will host a program for businesses looking to start or improve an internship program Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at the chamber’s downtown office, on the 17th floor of 11 Central Square. Sean McKinniss of the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education will conduct the educational workshop. Participants will also receive a workbook and program plan that will help in implementing and successfully managing an internship program long term.
