Wright, Foreman lift East Palestine

Corey Wright and Brett Foreman each scored 15 points for the East Palestine High boys basketball team, which beat Crestview 43-38 Friday.
Wright also made 11 rebounds and nine blocks for EP (2-0, 1-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Adam Robb contributed seven rebounds and five points. For the Rebels (1-1, 0-1), Carter Hill scored 10 points, Tom Oliver had eight rebounds and six points. Brian Orr contributed five points and three steals.

Zack Rovnak’s game-leading 25 points included 12 free throws for the Blue Devils (1-2). Drew Sweeney and Matt Metzgar each scored 13 points, with Metzgar making 16 rebounds and eight blocks. For the Clippers (1-2), Austin Barbato’s 18 points included 11 free throws.
South Range 94, Mineral Ridge 52

Andy Lacefield scored 16 of his 24 points in the first half and Brandon Pluchinsky scored 14 of 18 points in the first 16 minutes as South Range (2-0) rolled out to a 58-21 halftime lead. Zac Czopur added 13 points for the Raiders. Jeff Marsolo had nine points for Ridge (0-2).

All five Rockets scored in double figures. Mike Mangine led with 19 while Anthony Alfano and Dean Donatelli each had 13. Gerrod Hrusovsky scored 12 for the Rockets (2-0, 1-0 ITCL2) and Mike Matisi had 11. Donatelli added 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Rockets. Matisi had six steals and Hrusovsky had eight boards. Jake Hubbs scored 13 to lead the Trojans (2-1, 0-1).

Jake Boyle scored 31 points while Eric Baker netted 19. Also reaching double figures for the Indians (3-0, 1-0 Tier Two) were Luke Griffith with 13 points and Trey Griffith with 11. For the Bears, Nick Altomare scored 20 points, Ian Sevenich 16 and Cody Stokes 10.

Jalen Dessario had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Michael Johnson had 21 points and five assists for Wellsville, which outscored the Bluejays 16-7 in the fourth quarter to rally for the Tier Two win. Jacob Carlile scored 16 points with six assists, Ryan Nagy had 16 points and Bobby Schnellbach 13 points and 11 rebounds for JM.
