Students to attend leadership seminar

Poland Seminary High School sophomores Makenzie Clark, Abby Begezda and Anthony Marchionda have been chosen to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar at the University of Rochester, in New York June 3-5.

Madeleine Queen has been selected as the alternate.

The Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership mission is to recognize outstanding sophomore leaders and encourage and prepare them to be the next generation of leaders.

HOBY provides opportunities for critical thinking by promoting democracy and America’s incentive system, and by encouraging social responsibility among individuals and participating corporations.

Students will learn to think critically, enhance their leadership skills, identify their own particular leadership strengths and learn more about free enterprise, volunteerism and service to community.
